Quick Guide To Bali

Weather
- Tropical, Warm & Humid all year round
- Season: Dry & Rainy

*For me, it’s super hot and humid that we get sun burn on the second day, also we start to sweat a lot once we step out from the villa so sun cream is still recommended to use even if you don't go for any water activities.
*Throughout the whole journey, we drink lots of water due to the hot weather condition!

Language

-        English is widely spoken however if you can speak Bahasa Melayu, it can be a bonus for you as the Indonesian language is quite similar as Bahasa Melayu (For this, I am proud that I am a Malaysian who can still speak basic Melayu haha;p)

Currency
Indonesia Rupee

Transportation
You can take cab/taxi to one destination to another as most of the places are not within walking distance. However, from my experiences, the best way is to hire a car driver for your whole Bali stay because we encounter a lot of taxi drivers trying to con us and sometime we got no choice to be con TT. Most of them are not honest towards tourists too; they offer very high overprice rates and rejected to charge the fees by using meters which really annoyed us. Luckily from second day onwards, we hire a reliable and friendly car driver and it makes our travel journeys so smooth and damages are so reasonable! If you are planning to visit Bali soon and need a car driver, you may contact me to get it, I will be happy to share the driver details with you as you will need to book and communicate your itinerary with the driver in advance!

Most friendly and helpful car driver ever!

Flights to Bali
Bali is not far from Malaysia/Singapore, It takes only about 2 hours to reach, consider a short flight. My friends and I book our ticket quite last minute so the fares are not too cheap but I found cheap fares which cost only about RM300-400 (round trip) from Kuala Lumpur by Air Asia X Flight. Everyone knows right, you have to book earlier for cheaper price if you are planning to take budget airline, or take note of their sales fares on their website, it can be even cheaper!

Where to Stay (https://www.agoda.com/zoe-villa-canggu-bali/hotel/bali-id.html)

Bali is famous for their luxurious villa with affordable price (but only if you travel with large groups so that the fares can be divided). I travel with another 2 of my best friends this time and in the end we choose ZOE VILLA as our home away from home for 3 days J we definitely love it and now I am going to share more of the details to you!

What I Like about ZOE VILLA :

  • Free Wifi (speed is good too)
  • Located in Canggu, surrounded by a lot of nice cafes
  • Staffs are friendly and helpful
  • Good value with what is provided and there is private pool in the villa
  • Clean and everything looks so new and well maintain

What I Don't like about ZOE VILLA:
  • Breakfast not included
  • The design is more for couples as the toilet area is fully transparent haha so if travelling in big groups of friends doesn't seem suitable

Display beside the reception area

Main door of the villa

There is kitchen area for you to cook and eat, We had our breakfast here :)

Bathroom

Bathtub

Private Pool in the villa !!!

Highly recommended if you are looking for a private, luxury yet affordable villa in Bali :)

Where I Visited and Highly Recommended

  1. Sunset at Tanah Lot

If you love to see beautiful sunset , here is a good place to visit. Many tourists and even locals sit there just to wait to watch the beautiful sunset.

The sunset starts around at 6:15-30 in the evening

Popular Temple where you need to cross over before high tide

  2. Ubud (to see beautiful rice fields)

It takes some effort to climb up and down the field! it is quite slippery and dangerous so be very careful if you plan to climb up for great photos.

& not to forget the awesome spa in Ubud as well ! Strongly recommended - Sedona Spa Ubud

Personally, I prefer Indonesia massage than Thai massage because it helps to relief my sore muscles in a more relax kind of massage movements. Spa therapists are well train and professional. I love it and definitely will be back again if I have a chance to visit Bali again :) Oh! and the price is affordable too! I give some tips to my therapist though as I am satisfied with her service in overall. Here are some pictures I took for you guys to have a glance.

I choose one & a half hour body massage (which includes 60min full body massage + 15 min body scrub + 15 min rose bath & refreshment)

Damages (exclude tips): About Rm 65-75 only! Super Worthy!

  3. Chill & Relax at Seminyak Double Six Beach

This is a place where I didn't expect myself to love it in the first place but I fall in love after visited! It’s super relaxing and nice to have a drink with the sea breeze, nice beach view & lovely voice from the singer! Additionally, the prices are not too high as well if compared to all other bars. We settle ourselves down at the B9B as we get so attracted by the singer voice. There are actually quite a few of different bars spreading along the beach, you just have to choose one you prefer, sit down and relax!

4. Rock Bar at Ayana Resort

Susnet at the Bar is amazing

Prices are high as this is consider a high end resort in Bali but I recommend to try this experience at least once ! I love it a lot !

Stunning View

5. LaLaguna

It's a cafe in Canggu Area (near to our Villa). This place is amazing! It is filled with colourful gypsy concept architecture and we had our last meal at the cafe, We regret to not visit this place earlier so that we can spend more time here. Highly recommended area :) Do bear in mind that there is minimum spend required at the cafe and they open for business only after 11:00am.

As for foods in Bali, I do not find any particular super recommended foods, maybe I didn't come across any that I like or maybe it just doesn't suit my taste so I do not have any recommendations on this part. However, I will just show you guys what I had during my trip this time.

Bali Noodles soup (Review: normal haha)

The famous seafood BBQ dinner at Jimbaran Beach area (Review: Pricey yet taste normal too)

Other than that, I had also fried noodles, fried rice etc. In overall,  it does not taste bad but it doesn't wow me as well! If you visited Bali before and found any particular dishes delicious , share with me !!! :)

so thats all for my Bali experience sharing! Thanks for reading and hope it is useful for you :) Bye....till next time.
